Work Experience
August 1995 to August 2001: Executive Producer, Kids Domain, www.kidsdomain.com. Started a site for children related information in 1995. Merged with children software reviews from Games Domain to launch as Kids Domain in 1997. Took site from small beginnings to a top 10 site for children and families on the web, with over 14,000 pages of content.
Duties included:
- Content - content development and creation, setting site standards, privacy policy, site focus, editorial goals, graphics editing, HTML, some scripting, quality control, testing
- Staff management and training, in terms of content, site focus, and technical issues, such as HTML and graphics editing. Worked with database programmers and system support staff.
- Business - site promotion, finding creative solutions with advertising and marketing, business relationships. Led merge for initial launch of Kids Domain, and the later acquisition by theglobe.com.
- Support - handled daily emails from visitors and other websites, including feedback, technical issues, and business inquiries. We answered ALL our email.
1989 to present: Consulting. Interactive demos, presentations, documentation, graphics, web design, content, printables.
Sept 1987 to June 1988: Graphics Designer, Aaron Marcus and Associates, Berkeley, CA. Designed user interfaces, newsletters, graphics, and produced design recommendation reports. System maintenance of the Macs and the Corvus network.
