Digi Safety

Be very careful talking to strangers! This is doubly true online because sometimes people lie about who they really are.

NEVER give out your personal information: your name, address, school, phone number, email address. Don't give out that information about your parents or other family members, either.

Don't agree to meet someone you met online in person! If someone attempts to meet you, let your parents know right away.

Be careful in chat rooms. Instead of going into an "open" room, try setting up a time to meet and chat in a closed chat room with kids you know.

Don't sign up for too many contests or mailing lists. Why? Because companies often sell names and addresses to other companies.

Some sites may "grab" your computer. Just close the browser window and open a new one.

IF you see something scary or bad, tell your parents!

When you write an email, remember that a human will be reading it - don't hurt people's feelings.

Follow these guidelines online and have LOADS of fun!

Love, Cindy
