To whom it may concern:
I am writing this letter as a reference for Kayvan Sylvan who has been a consultant with Cemax-Icon since October 1995.
Kayvan has made excellent contributions to the Archive Manager project at Cemax-Icon. This project involved work in a completely object-oriented environment, utilizing C++ and the Booch methodology. Specifically, Archive Manager is a product that will be used to manage digital medical images in the hospital enterprise. Kayvan came up to speed very quickly on the required elements, including a complex medical imaging standard called DICOM, and our development environment. He was productive within a week, and implemented the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) modality for our product. He did this using the Rational Rose case tool, C++, the SNiFF+ development environment on Sun SPARC workstations running Solaris 2.4. His most recent project, for which he has completed the design, involves Hierarchical Storage Management and Archive Manager's facilities for automatically handling the migration of large image files. He has completed this design again using Rational Rose and the Booch methodology, and conducted a design review on this topic. Throughout these projects, Kayvan has been able to do his job well with minimal supervision or instruction.
Not only is Kayvan technically competent, a fast learner, and easily adaptable, but he is a lot of fun to work with. Everyone in our organization gained respect of Kayvan's talent and personality in the short period of time that he was with us.
If the opportunity arises in the future, I would hire him back in a second.
Sincerely,
Signed: Ken H. Rosenfeld, Project Lead, Image Management Products.
