 DAY 5

 Interior paperclay is now complete.

Up go the wooden trusses tohold the ceiling boards, I think this is when it gets exciting!

Technique used to create the "eyebrow" roofline. Thin pieces of wood glued together, sloping gently over the arch of the sidewall.

The completed eyebrow wall. Only thing left is to trim the edge pieces a bit.

Interior view, very cool effect.

11 hour day.

 DAY 6

Today we will be taught how to shingle our roofs with real cedar shakes. Supplies include bags of chips (short and long lengths of shakes - hand cut by Rik), white glue and a miter cuter. But, I quickly abandoned the miter cuter (which is great in other applications) and used a simple kitchen scissors and my fingers.

First few rows laid.

The slightly more difficult eyebrow side is begun.

12 hour day.
