Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 Homework Homework 2 Day 4 Day 5 Day 6 Variations Finishing Up
Below are both some variations taught in the class as well as ingenuity of the individual mini-artisans.
| Here Rik shows the class how to make colored glass windows with lead lining - the template offers two different
styles for those who wish to use them. In order to use them it would mean cutting out the mullions (the cross-hatches
inside of our windows) and inserting these instead. I chose to keep my "square" window mullions intact
and forgo the option of colored glass. (Note: I have supplies to make at least one insert, I may do this sometimes in July 2001 and put up a few photos of that process. Also, if any classmate is able to get me a finished photo of their colored glass windows I would love to put a picture up here as well..) |

| Here is Christine's crazy-brick fireplace. A totally different approach for a totally different and fantastic look. | |
| Here Christine keeps to her cottage's theme of the unexpected with these tiny mushrooms. To see them planted in the walkway, click here. | |
| Here is Robin's rustic river-stone fireplace with brick peeking through. | |
| Robin continues the river-stone theme to create a striking chimney. | |
| A terrific variation by Kristin. Here we see a teeny hollowed out nook for a bird's nest! Note the variation in the wattle. We can also see a nice effect of "aging" on the stucco (look at how the edges that will be under the eaves of the roof are more smudged). | |
| Here is a detail of the chimney pots on top on Kristin's chimney. To see a shot of the full chimney, click here. | |
| Here is Barbara's chimney with stonework that is yet again another wonderful variation. This time, the variation is inspired by the chimney in Barbara's own life-sized home! | |
| Last but not least, is Shellie's new home for Mrs. Tiggly! Shellie has created a welcoming landscape of brightly colored flowers. |
