| Photo of House on the Hill by Norm's Dollhouse - store copy. In theory,
my finished dollhouse should look VERY similar to the model, but with Victorian house exteriors, a little can change
the overall flavor of the outside! This is my first attempt at building a dollhouse from a kit. I plan to do minimal kit bashing (knocking down walls, adding new features) - it is difficult at times to just leave well enough alone! I will probably put a few windows on the sides and a chimney as well. Who knows what else might be added. (5/10/02) |

| Back of the house. The photo is a slightly older version of this kit but the layout is almost identical. The kit uses room dividers on the first and second floor to create 2 rooms on each wing. I will not use most of these dividers and have each wing be one large room. First floor: left side kitchen, right side living room. Second floor: left side master suite, right side nursery (?) and a bathroom. Third floor: left child's room, right a library (?). Attic: unsure, possibly a child's hidey-space. Trying to decide if I want to install a fold-away ladder for access. Pro: cute plus provides "real" access for my littles. Con: eats up too much of the floor space and it means more kit bashing for me. Verdict: need for realistic access will probably win. |
